I am hoping someone may be able to help or point me in the right direction. I am an ex Royal Marine and have lost my right leg above the knee. I cannot get out unless I rely on someone to take me in their car. My self esteem is going down, its causing me deep depression etc. I really would like to get a Trike. Does anyone know if there is any funding available for such a project. I just havnt got the money to go out and buy a Trike. I want to be able to be part of a club/group and go away on rides. This would enable me to get some self respect and self esteem back. I have never asked for anything before, but just don't know any other way of trying to get a trike. I understand this is a big ask, and understand this cant be done. But I need to ask. many thanks keith

Hi Keith, I know this isn't the full answer you want but once you have a trike you can approach the National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) for financial support to modify your trike. Sounds like you may need the brake modification where both front & back brakes are operated from the right hand adapted brake levers. They helped me out with a Kliktronic gear changer, I've got a duff left leg. NABD Web Site: www.nabd.org.uk/All the best Royal, Barry Chapman Ex-Matelot PS Whereabouts in the country are you? I'm in GUZZ.
